My brother is started hockey 10 years ago. (For his old girl friend )
I must do bigger than him!
And I was started ice hockey in 1999.
My first coach said me "Your reflexs is good you may do goalkeeping"
And I was start! His name is Fahri Pasli! Now he is a coach in U.S.A!
And I was practice hardly! I can a good goalie! But How can I do great goalie in there? Because there isn`t any goalie coach in there or goalie camp.
I know is there alot of camp in europe! But I can`t stay alone my team and friends in there! I must do my work bestest! But I know The goalies are bester than me in europe! I can study Hard but not in there!

Finally Our Familly is the HOCKEY Family!
My brother is Coach and player in the Anka Spor Kulubu!
I am a goalie in same team!
My Mother is President of Anka Spor Kulubu!
And My Father is Team Maneger of Anka Spor Kulubu!

The turkish League is not so bad but bad.
Because teams are so different class!
Maybe 3 good team in there!
Other 7 team is so bad!
For example we win a match adn score is 60-0!
we dont have any Hockey equipment in there!
Our Federation is not help us!
My goalie equipments is old!
there is a hockey shop in there but so expensive!
For example A goalie equipment is 7000 $ But it is not good equipment!

The Practice hours is so late!
Our practice is 23:45 (start) 01:15 (finish)

The Hockey life is so hard in there!!!

I think that will make the league's much more competitive --- as Gurj said.

Edit: I just realized we're really asking a lot of questions! Sorry!

Hi everyone :)

I am originally from Turkey, but have been living quiete a while here in UK, and have been following Ice hockey , particularly the BNL for three seasons .
What can I say, I absolutely love the sport, and only wished I discovered it earlier.
I support the lovely Guildford Flames, and proud to be a fan of such a successful club.
In fact the Flames have advanced to the Semi Finals and have disqualified the Newcastle Vipers.., the match tonight was awesome. I sincerely hope that the team can retain the play off championship title from last season. :023:

I am also really happy to hear about the existance of Ice Hockey in Turkey, shame there is not much financial back up there too...
I sincerely hope Istanbul gets its ice rink which it truely deserves..

Merhaba! :-)

This might be slightly OT, but I couldn't find any better thread for a discussion about Team Turkey, so here comes..

For Rowan the logo collector :-), you can find a picture of the Team Turkey jerseys (and roster) from:
http://www.icerink.co.za/hockey/ihwc_team_tur.htm

This is from year 2002 II Div. Championships at South-Africa.

And now that we are at the subject of II Div. Championships, do our Turkish friends know if this years team roster is announced yet?

Also I will be at Istanbul with my (Turkish) wife during the games next month and I was wondering if there is any possiblity of seeing the games from any TV-channel there? Or are the II Div. games shown at any channel in Europe at all?

As a Finn I'm a big fan of ice hockey and my biggest dream would be to see Team Finland vs. Team Turkey some day :-) So I wish all the best for the Team Turkey on their way up to I Div. and upwards!

- Mige, probably the only Finnish supporter of Team Turkey in icehockey :-)

P.S. And for _sure_ the only supporter of Istanbul Paten :-D

Looking for the whole Schedule and Scores, 2004-05

Merhaba friends from Turkey,

who can help me with the whole 2004-05 schedule, incl. the scores? Unfortunatelly, the webpage from the Federation does not works any longer... It would be great, if somebody can help me to complete my database about turkish ice hockey. And - of course - I'm looking also for all the teamrosters, but this seem's it's hard to find..... :shakehead

BTW, I'm looking also for the scores from the last three rounds from the season 2003-04? Who knows all the scores?

Thank you in advance for any help.

The following information is from the 2003-2004 IIHF Survey of Players:

Turkey
- 540 registered players (80 senior, 10 junior, 20 female)
- 8 male referees
- 3 indoor arenas

Last month there was a qualification tournament in Ankara.

- Three-nation qualifier ends in Turkey

And in case you didn't know, linesman Timucin Ozbukucu will travel to Belgrade in April for the WM DIIB.
