The Romanian league - LNH (Liga Nationala Hochei pe Gheata)
- Regular season 21 October - 21 January. Turn - return formula, the teams play doubles per round and everyone meets everyone 4 times (2 home 2 away) giving a total of 20 games per team.
- 4 best teams to playoff (date not set). Semifinals best-of-5, then finals best-of-7, 3rd prize best-of-5. 5th and 6th teams directly to relegation (if any) in best-of-3)

* HCM Galati replaces the combined team of CS Dinamo Bucuresti and CSM Dunarea Galati that played last season. Dinamo has disbanded its senior team and will only have junior teams this season. Same with Dunarea. HCM recieves the bulk of players from these teams.

There is also a possibility for a second division that, in that case, will contain the better teams from the amateur 'HCIHC' (Harghita County Ice Hockey Championship) that was arranged for the first time last season. Fortunato M-Ciuc, Autosport M-Ciuc and others. Olimpia Brasov is another team that might be part of the second division.

HEY GUYS, i hope that this year HCM Galati will do well, as it is my hometown team!! I will go to watch the matches when there will be time!!
Sadly, the level of hockey in Romania is a very low one. Maybe, by bringing players from Slovakia and Ukraine the level of the championship will rise. I hope some more money are invested in hockey, because now there are little to go around.

With Pisarenko scoring the golden goal Steaua. The Bucharest based team is the first after 2000 to win the cup twice in a row.

Hi from a British guy living in Csikszereda/Miercurea Ciuc. So far in the season, each team has played four games and SCMC,Steaua, and Progym have won all four of their games (SCMC already have a goal difference of +67 in the space of those four games). Interesting to get to know something more than jus the results , espescially from a Brit (not a true hockey nation, surely even less than Austria...) stumbling over the game in Romania (even less of a hockey country). Romania NT will participate in the Skoda Cup in Budapest, HUN next weekend. The roster is not set yet but Romania will miss a few injured key-players:

The Romanian season proceeds without any major upsets and no great 'scandals' yet... The only lighter disturbance to report is the second game in the VII round between Galati and Progym. Progym left the ice in the 53rd minute after having their 3rd goal of the game disallowed. The verdict is yet to be established.

The double Csikszereda - Galati is postponed due to the fact that the Romanian U-20 team will go to Budapest-Hungary for a preparation game vs the Ujpest U-20 1/12. Csikszereda has most of the NT U-20 players.

The first part of the Champs are not fully concluded as Csíkszereda have a few games left due to their contribution to the National U18.
Yesterday: Csíkszereda-Progym 4-7. A game that was played on an outdoor rink (though artificial ice) in the village of Cârţa (Karcfalva) 30km north of Miercurea Ciuc because the Vakar Lajos rink in M-Ciuc is being prepared for an international speed-skate event. The return game will also be played in Cârţa.

with 3 games remaining between these 2 Teams (1 SCMC home, 2 at Bucharest), both teams have the same number of points.

Regarding the fight, Coco Cazacu said that he would lliked to be on ice at this game, because he has nice "memories" from SCMC games - the hockey fans know what he wanted to say.

It is more likely that he will attend this year FINAL between Steaua and SCMC.

Not played! Should be played on 11-12.02 but thats not sure either. HCC makes a big part of the U18 squad and monday till wednesday 2 lines from HCC were in training camp for the NT along with 2 Triumf/Steaua lines plus one from Dinamo and one from Galati.

Nothing is really known, just that tomorrow and the day after tomorrow Steaua and SCMC will play.

So Sportclub has won the regular season, even before the last match (won today by Sportclub with 5-1?). At the score of 2-0 for the defending champions (Steaua) the Sportclub scored 4 goals in 6 minutes and cancelled all the hopes for a first place of Steaua. Hozo two goals in 27 seconds (even if the second goal was scored by somebody else, Krechac or Elekes, it's seems that Hozo wasn't even on the ice at that moment).

And yes Franco no semis. They had this 2nd stage for the extra games. The program is as miki said with a huge change of SC winning it in 4 straight if Steaua doesnt start to play.

Well if any game is worth and gets capped by some fan (one actually how caps in a digital form) i will probably put it on a torent tracker. Right now i have the Friday game between Steaua and SCMC but its nothing more then a whitewash.
