very promising news from august already seems vanishing...

    - Copa Transpirenaica's begin was postponed from 19-20 september to another date (probably 26-27) because at moment just two team finalized and registered roster

    - Puigcerdà signed a new goalie to replace icon Lubomir Misut: after a unsuccesful try out with Slovak Andrej Procko, Pyreneus team choose another Slovak: former Strasbourg and Ujpest TE (Hun) Juraj Nemcak

    - Worst news: after positive declarations during the summer, ADR Gasteiz decides to retire from league due to lack of funds. All competitions' calendars should now be rewrite

After 6 years from selection of project for new Icepalace in Bilbao, city sports' department decided to discard previous project presented by Juan Coll Bareu (same architect of Jaca Arena) and chose to build a tennis arena instead.
6 years ago, Bilbao major José Luis Uribarri said: "In few years we will have one of best three icehockey arenas in Europe".
But a 18 million euro budget was the same cause that collapsed the idea.
"The ice palace buried itself" said Bilbao sports' department director Jon Sustatxa. The new tennis arena will open in 2011 and has a 2,5 million budget

Isn't Igor Zhemchenko a former U18 and U20 Ukrainian national team player? I know that doesn't mean he can't hold a spanish passport now though, just curious.

How long has he been playing in Spain, and is he still there for next season?
He could well become eligible in the future if he already has the passport.

Slovak coach Peter Oppitz left CG Puigcerdà and signs with ambitious 2nd Division team Las Encinas de Boadilla from Madrid. Delay in payments and a better economic offer persuaded Oppitz to leave Pyrenaic team. In five seasons under his comand Puigcerdà won 3 leagues and 4 National Cup. Puigcerdà managment soon will announce new coach, probably a player\coach.

After 3 matches with captain Salva Barnola as player\coach, Puigcerdà nominated new head coach: it's former NY Rangers defender Larry Sacharuk.
