    Finland Karjala Cup, 2008/09

Sorry if already exists a topic on this. I seacherd and didn't find nothing.

    Here is the list:

Goalkeepers: Alexander Yeremenko, Vadim Tarasov (Salavat Yulayev), Mikhail Biryukov (MVD Balashikha), Konstantin Barulin (CSKA Moscow).

Defenders: Evgeni Medvedev, Ilya Nikulin, Grigori Panin (Ak Bars Kazan), Evgeni Varlamov, Vitali Atyushov (Metalurg Magnitogorsk), Konstantin Korneyev, Denis Kulyash (CSKA Moscow), Oleg Tverdovsky, Andrei Kuteykin, Vitali Proshkin, Igor Schadilov (Salavat Yulayev Ufa), Vitali Vishnevsky, Vitali Anikeyenko (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl), Sergei Peretyagin (SKA St. Petersburg), Dmitri Bykov (Atlant Mytishchi), Dmitri Vorobiev (Lada Togliatti), Alexei Zhitnik (Dynamo Moscow).

Forwards: Danis Zaripov, Alexei Morozov, Sergei Zinoviev (Ak Bars Kazan), Alexei Tereshchenko, Alexander Radulov, Andrei Taratuhin, Alexander Perezhogin (Salavat Yulayev Ufa), Sergei Mozyakin (Atlant Mytishchi), Anton Kuryanov, Alexander Svitov (Avangard Omsk), Maxim Sushinsky, Sergei Brylin, Konstantin Gorovikov (SKA St. Petersburg), Alexei Yashin, Alexei Mikhnov (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl), Ivan Nepryayev, Maxim Pestushko, Alexei Badyukov (Dynamo Moscow), Anton But, Petr Schastlivy, Oleg Saprykin, Alexander Suglobov, Sergei Shirokov, Denis Parshin (CSKA Moscow), Anton Krysanov (Lada Togliatti).

What do you think? I love Bykov ( I consider him the most brillant coach of the world) but I think it's a shame that Kirill Koltsov is not in this list. I know Bykov had troubles with him on the past, but Russia needs Kirill to have succes.

I like the final roster. I only miss Kirill Koltsov. I'm also surprised with the absence of Sergei Shirokov but, in general, it's a solid team almost imposible to defeat.

    My bid

    Russia- Sweden 2-1
Finland- Czech will be very close but I think Finland will win 3-2, maybe at OT or penalties.

It is an interesting hockey weekend: Karjala Cup, Deutschland Cup, junior tournaments, olympic qualification...................................

Hmm... Voutilainen out, Luoma out, Davidsson out. These HV71 players seem to be dropping like flies. Hopefully the club can recover from this injury epidemic...

Czech R. beat Sweden today with four unanswered third period goals. The game ended 4-1.

Finland - Russia is 1-2 after the first period. All the goals have been more or less direct results of gross defensive mistakes. Scorers: Radulov, Nummelin, Mihnov.

Can anyone confirm which games Oscar Hedman and Dick Axelsson played for Sweden in the Karjala Cup? I see that they both played in the final game against Finland.

    Thanks,

    Kharlamov
