Unofficially, Medveščak's defenseman Novosel went to Mladost. Medveščak's wing Kopajtić went to Zagreb. That's about it.

kopajtic, marko sertic and sakirovski went to zagreb

zibret supposed to go to ute, dunno if transfer was finalised

for medvescaks new signings we should wait till august, hope that ulcar will be back at the goal + some new foregners, lets say not slovaks, or at least on the level of pohorelec, brumercik playin full strenght

remember that decent foregn singings are at bout 2000E per month :090:

p.s. GOD THANK YOU FOR ZELJKO KALAC AND ALL AUSSIE CROATS PLAYIN FOR SOCCEROOS

Interesting news.Is it true that Photrorelec and Huška also have Croatian passport and that Medveščan could bring 6 new Slovaks ?

p.s. Get rid of Kranjčar (both of them) and start playing footy like you did in the times of (crazy) Čiro.Talent is there, but someone needs to led and coach them properly.Oh those Balkan coaches ... :090:

It seems team Croatia U18 will play in the hungarian U18 championship. Check the following link: here. It is a list of teams which applied for the 2006-07 season. If you scroll down a little bit you see: "Ifjúsági Bajnokság (U-18):", which means 'U18 league', and there you can see "Horvát U-18" ('Croatia U18').

    Thanks for the news !
Imnteresting is that players from Olimpija did not sign but the players from Alfa (Petač and Kumar). Now you only need a few forwards and you are all set.

or one of them showed as a probably good signing, but the other would be waste of money. no use of just one swedish defender or a players that are on the same level as home guys...

    i love this guy.

    btw.

    medvescak - slavija 2-2 (1-0, 0-1, 1-1)
2 goals for medvescak scored by slovenian martin pirnat,
    http://www.eurohockey.net/players/sh...i?serial=14146
medvescak lead twice. kumar, pirnat and kroselj play well. looks like bears brought decent players. fourth slovenian petac didnt play...

new signings coming next week...some canadians and slovenians probably. medvescak needs forwards...

it seems its gonna be a nice hockey season in zagreb :claphands

Excellent result for Medveščak. Any idea what Petač did not play ? He is an interesting player. A natural forward wo can play center or wing was used as a defender when playing for Olimpija and Alfa.
Which Slovenian players are rumored to come in the next weeks ? There are still some quite interesting players who could go to Zagreb especially from Alfa/Slavija or Olimpija.

I think one of them could have been Jonas Carlenius Played in Brunflo last season in the Swedish 3rd tier, which perhaps is comparable to the level of Medvescak, though they'd want to hire a more merited player no doubt.

petac will be in zagreb in a few days. so private matters stoped him yestarday :)
he can be used in any position. thats great.
i belive that olimpija has more than few interesting players :ignore:
imho, ex triglav player nejc japelj would be nice additon.

    no slovaks in medvescak :smart:
that didnt happen for a long time.
only a coach canky, and brumercik but he played for croatian nt.

bringing quality slovenain players is a better choice than used slovaks veterans.

Wow, great result!!! A strong Medvescak is really needed in Interliga, now that there are only five teams. :(

Looks like it's really a great idea to sign young, enthusiastic slovenians than those "tired" slovaks. :claphands

    6th October: UTE-Medvescak: I will have a day off, I will be there!!! :045:

However, I'm sorry that Chovanec left the team. :(

Do you know who the other two attackers will be?

I would rather see a fully croatian team in Interliga (the croatian national team maybe). There could be the croatian league of course, but the best croatian players of Mladost, Zagreb and Medvescak would play in Interliga.

Does it mean you will have a slovenian and a czech goalie, a slovenian defenseman, 3 slovenian 1 czech 1 canadian forwards (plus possibly two other foreigners)??? That's ten foreign players altogether. :scratchhe I don't mind, there will be a strong Medvescak in Interliga, but I don't think it's good for croatian hockey. I mean, why buying these many foreigners?

It would be better to see Belic and Filipec in the net... The national team would also benefit from that. See example of Alba Volan (second goalie behind Budai, Hetényi is only 18 years old, but he was already starting goalie against both Slavija and Olimpija this season)

Of course I'm not happy either that both Alba Volan and UTE need 6-6 foreigners to compete against fully slovenian Olimpija and Slavija teams... :shakehead

dunno what to think...mixed feelings...youre right in one hand, but in the other...
it would be nice to see croatian nt play in interliga or any kind of league coz they would be prepaired for wc.
    u made a mistake :)
theres no czech, only slovakian forward, but that kid is leaving in few weeks to u20 czech extraliga. plus egon murič is probably lost for most of the season. rehak really cripled him...

new attacker is gonna come from slovakia...i think

anyway, walkers bio looks better on this site

From the point of national team and its preparations for WC, this would the optimal solution. However, I doubt such team would have fared better than the current Medvescak. Croatian team performed badly in Division 1 this year.

Back then in late eighties, Medvescak's GM brought some of the best Slovenian players, four Russians, two or three Canadians and Americans and Russian coach, Anatoliy Kostryukov.

This team won three consecutive Yugoslav championships was beating Jesenice and Olimpija. The hall was full for all big matches, TV was showing play-off finals, there was media interest, fans were buying subscriber tickets and souvenirs.

If present management managed to turn Medvescak into competitive team in Interliga, it would have renewed the interest in this sport with lots of new kids wanting to play and with increased interest of fans, media and sponsors would have followed.

It would be better to see Belic and Filipec in the net... The national team would also benefit from that. See example of Alba Volan (second goalie behind Budai, Hetényi is only 18 years old, but he was already starting goalie against both Slavija and Olimpija this season)
Medvescak, for whatever reason, pays a lot (by standards of Croatian hockey) for foreign players, some of them of dubious value, while leaving Croatian players with next to nothing. With such "policy" best players from Mladost and Zagreb do not even consider to change teams because they do get some small compensation at the moment.

Without motivation, with ceiling of hockey development already reached, the Croatian core of Medvescak gets worse in each consecutive season, dragging whole Croatian hockey to abyss.

Medveščak will play 2 games vr Lada Toljati (RUS) in Switzerland.
12 and 13 december in Bellinzona.
Croatian champ is probably gonna "borrow" few players from some other regional teams (slavija most likely) for those games. Russian squad for sure is way toooooo strong, plus medvescak will give many players to croatian national team for EIHC (15-17 dec) and U20 DIVII WC (same week)

Did Medvescak Zagreb really sign Marian FILO, Pavel KORCOK and Dusan POHORELEC??? I read it on a hungarian forum. Or maybe it was misunderstood, and do they play against Lada Togliatti only?

I know that club officals said that they would like to bring few more foregn players for the playoffs, but if those three signed i cant see what good can they bring.
only pohorelec is (was) a good player. i tough that possible new signings would be those that can bring something extra...
yesterday was deadline for transfers in interliga, when i find out sth, ill post it on the forum

    we know :087:

    funny story about them.
their father was quite good waterpolo player and came to montey...goran started to play hockey a bit late, for the first time he saw hockey in school, when they had some kind of sports day, he liked it and started to skate when he was 9-10 years old..and became best defender in swiss league, had nhl, ahl experience...quite good achivement for a mediteranian guy :yelclap: hope hill make it back to nhl with bigger role than last time. good thing that they didnt forget their roots, goran speaks fluent croatian, follows results of our national team, he even donated some of his equpment for future sports museum in split

jonas, everyone is saying that his brother is a bigger talent, is that true?

I never saw him play, so this is quite difficult to say. If he'd really that talented he'd already play for Servette in the NLA and in the U-20 national-team, but neither he did (just a few games for Servette). Time will tell if he can get on the same level as Goran or even further.

KHL Zagreb team (born 1996) is in Canada on 43rd Annual Reps Spring Ice Hockey Tournament. They are only team (128 in total) outside Canada & USA.

they are already in Toronto, went to Marlies AHL game, visited Niagara Falls, beside tournament will play few exhibition games...shortly - they will have trip to remember for entire life.
    good luck kids!

medvescak has a new board with mostly new members from business & city goverment, ambitions are as ever sky high :) asap to the place in ebel (if its possible)

new president is a player :) damir gojanovic, but a person with solid financial background.

new signings are probable from slovenia, few from the last season will remain, like pirnat, samo kumar and maybe kroselj...new players should become mare kumar and uros peruzzi.

one more thing, there are rumours about new croatian national team coach.
rudolf ulicny stayed at home in slovakia, coaching a 1.league team, while the name of the 54-year old canadian greg holst came up as a possible new coach. holst is a coach of austrian ebel team Villach (VSV) and one of the names that croatian hockey federation would like to see in the coaching position.
hope that holst has some superpowers, to save croatia from relegation to div2
