    LNH, Romania 2011/12

The Romanian Championships will start with nine teams. New teams are the HSC Csíkszereda and Steaua farmteams, and the Moldavian Platina Chisinau. HSC farm and Platina will play in the new indoor rink in Carta (Karcfalva). (image gallery about the indoor arena here)

    Participating teams:

    HSC Csíkszereda (Mol Liga)
    Corona Fenestela Brasov (Mol Liga)
    Steaua Rangers Bucuresti (Mol Liga)
    -------------------------------------
    Dunarea Galati
    Progym Gheorgheni
    Sportul Studentesc Bucuresti
    HSC Csíkszereda farmteam
    Steaua Rangers Bucuresti farmteam
    Platina Chisinau (Moldavia)

    Modus:
In the regular season the three Mol Liga teams will not play, the other six teams will play two home and two away games with each other (20 rounds). This will take from september till december. After the regular season the two farmteams will finish the championships. The qualification round will be played in January, the remaining four teams will play one single round (three matches). The first two Romanian teams (so Platina cannot go further from this stage) will advance to the next stage where they will meet with two Mol Liga teams (with those who finished second and third within the Romanian Mol Liga teams). This part of the season starts in the middle of January and ends at the end of February. The four teams will play three home and away rounds (18 matches). The first three will advance to the semifinals where the best Mol Liga team will join them as first seeded. They will play a semifinal (Mol Best.-3. and 1.-2.) in a best-of-five series. Final will be played in a best-of-seven series, bronze matches in a best-of-five.

I think the LNH could be followed on the rohockey.ro website.

Platina took part in last season Romanian U18 league and won, so probably they decided to try their youngs in a more competitive (but not too much) league

    LNH results

Not an easy start in the Romanian Champonships, Only 4 matches could have been played, the other 8 had to be postponed. The reason is that there is still no ice in Bucharest (home of Steaua Farm and Sportul Studentesc), while on the brand new ice-rink in Carta the owners have no money to operate the rink... Small East European absurd.........

    Platina Chisinau roster: http://eurohockey.com/club/6112-plat...2012&league=32

All players are from Russia or Belarus, included a couple played last season in BOL for Mogilev.

Yesterday game vs Miercurea Ciuc Farm team is indicated as 5-0 technical loss, I suspect this is related with composition of Moldovan roster......

Interesting about the Platina roster. I'm not seeing any information about birthplace or anything, is it possible that these are Russian-descended players who do actually have Moldovan citizenship?

    Official information from ROM fedration:
Platinum team lost 5-0 game because had no minimum number of players at the beginning of the match
Really strange because Platina played (and won) in Miercurea Ciuc 24 hours before with full roster....

That is even more strange knowing that the farm teams can not advance to the next stage of the league, so that the reason for their participation is that they want to give opportunity to play matches for their young players. Then a team comes without enough players, and instead of playing with them, the farm team refuses to play and claims the 3 points. Maybe I am too stupid but I don't understand that.

100% agree with you. And instead of promoting young players Miercurea dressed a couple of veterans already playing in Old Boys...

Big riot tonight in Mioercurea Ciuc - Platina game: http://eurohockey.com/news.html

Interesting Platina won't able to play next game due to lack of player (again) and for same reason - having defender Builko suspeded - in this game Platina dressed team bus driver...

We have had many questionable decisions. Its just the need to win. There is some prize money involved as far as I know. So getting Platina to play with their bus driver is a bonus.

Here is the video from first game. If Paltina got so many penalties that they lost most of players for next game what will be other solution? They went out on the ice to play the game and i find it's ok - 12 players - 2+10, what's the problem? Maybe rules cant be count if you have problem with roster because of fight in first game (it was two games in two days as i know). I'v seen the roster of Platina, all Russians!? They will win the first part of this league (with farm teams and others). Pity that they cant play in regular Romanian league (i mean second part). After watching video Platina didnt deserved all this, they didnt want troubles, they just play to finish the game after shame start of blue player (1min before the end of game, result is 2:9 for Platina). There is some 2 blue on 1 orange in fight, realy for shame.

    Tisza Volán-Szegedi Vízmű SC

Serbo-Hungarian cross-border collaboration on the rise: "In Serbia the league is weak and some teams can't even get ice time. Here in Budapest hockey is much more serious. We have intense on- and off-ice practices each day and we play up to three games every week".

First of all, I don't know which team is which but the hit that started it all looked dirty.
Secondly, the one fight, while I think it should have just been left to the ref to assess a penalty and the league a suspension for it, is understandable. But after that the players should have got out of the way and allowed team staff to come help the injured player. You can see him struggling to get up on his own at the 2:00 point, with everyone fighting around him and nobody helping him. It's quite disturbing to see.
Also, WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH GOALIES TRYING TO HIT SOMEONE IN THE HEAD WITH THEIR STICKS?!?! I'm sorry, but I've seen that a few times now in European brawls and it really disturbs me.

    No more disturbances.

Platina didn't show up for 2 games so they were expelled. (Players in white are Ciuc, orange ones are Platina)

No big loss there... sad, truly sad.
Are Moldovan teams still participating in the youth categories this year?

They have six players suspended for 2 or 3 matches after the fight against Ciuc farm. The teams are required to nominate 15+2 players on the gamesheet for every matches, I think Platina did not have the required number of players after the Ciuc match (and the suspensions) and there were no further bus drivers available in Chisinau.

I don't want to evaluate the story in details but I find the whole thing really weird. This stage of the season was mainly intended to provide matches for the young players and the weak teams...

    Great article !

    http://www.hsccsikszereda.com/2011/1...-ii-stuff.html

As I said in an earlier post, HSC II had games last weekend against Platina Chisinau from the Republic of Moldova. That is where we left off last time. What I didn't know then is that there were not 2, but 4 games planned (on Friday, Saturaday and Monday, Tuesday) probably because Platina had difficulties travelling back and forth and wanted to play those 4 regular season games as soon as possible.

I was present on the first game (on Friday) and quickly a few things became clear for me:
    1. Platina Chisinau had players that were pretty big, compared to the HSC II players, and they had a superior playing technique (they were mostly Russian born kids who grew up on Russian hockey style)
    2. This being said, and the fact that HSC II couldn't rely on the services of a few players from the "big" team (them being on the Hungarian tour in the MOL Liga) it was clear that they had absolutely no chance against Platina!
    3. Platina came with a very thin roster, they had just the minimum required players (15+2)

So, that first game ended with a 4-9 score, Platina was pretty much superior in every way possible! Interestingly, it wasn't enough that they were just a few players, but they didn't all have sticks! It was funny how when a line changed, the players coming off the ice had to give the sticks to those who were getting on the ice!!! (click on the result for more info)
    I couldn't just understand a few things:
    1. Why was that fight necessary, there were only 80 seconds left from the game ?!!
    2. Why did HSC II players started fighting when they knew that tomorrow probably a few players from the senior team will be able to help, because they just got home, and that way they might have won against Platina !?!

It's a loss. Since we have a shitty championship, we should be on the look for any teams that are going to play here. And the russians raised the quality of our internal championship. Really, a 2-team league is not something we should be looking at, but at how things are going, who knows.

Word is the Platina main man is calling the federation asking them to continue playing their games, so bits and pieces are missing from the bigger picture.

Also as kerusz said above, in the internal championship we require 15+2, while MOL League requires 13+2, I think. Why don't we chose to extend and make our internal competition better and more populated?

This is the same federation that owns a hockey rink that opens in October (where Steaua plays all their home games, or at least should).

To say something of our level, "amateur" team Sportul Studentesc (mainly consisting of students from the Ciuc area going to school in Bucharest or players well past their prime) beat a Progym Gheorgheni team that has been a good team during the early and mid 2000s, providing good players to the senior teams in Ciuc or Bucharest (Steaua had 5 players born in Gheorgheni, while they were winning championships).

Should be interesting to know why Platina didn't appear in last two game vs Gheorgheni...It seems Moldovan built a team to win the league and now voluntary "provoked" ROM federation...

I think they knew they didn't have enough players to compete (suspended due to that fight) and so just "missed" those two games, and after missing those games they wanted to play some more hockey, but it was deemed too late.

And Platina couldn't have won anything worth mentioning (they couldn't progress to the next phase of the competition, only one of Dunarea, Sportul and Progym can progress to play with the 3 MOL participants) since the main prize money for this phase of the competition is ~2 000 euros, which is a drop in the lake of money the Platina owner has probably spent so far.

I can now see the Platina people just re-orientate themselves to a more "soviet" championship, probably an Open one that allows his team to compete until it can.

I have one big question about team Platina?

Can someone to write something more about Platina. Who is the sponsor of that team, are they have o money or they are just amateur team? It is preety unbelievble that good players from Russia and Belorusia( second, third rang league from Russia and Belorusian first league) come to play in Moldavia for some amateur club who hasnt have their own ice hall and play all games in Romania
. I thing that all that players from Russia who came to Moldavia to play, they sure get som money for that. But, if they get some money, is it possible that club dont have a money for the sticks( they play the games with 5-6 sticks). What is the interest of that Russian players for coming in Moldavia and playing games in Romanian champioship, when they play much better hockey(and probably for the money) in Russia...?

As wee see, now a few players from Platina goes to Finland( 3 division), Ukraine, Romania...

What will be now with the club, when they got suspension to play in Romanian champioship?

I really dont know how to explain this very strange ice hockey story from Moldavia, it is unbelieveble...

If someone from Romania can explain something more about Platina, i will be very happy:-)))

Not easy to understand why they want to play with some "kids" in Romania, without money and equipment? - probably they will be top ranking team in the Interliga/MOL with some better sponsor. After all it is good that ROM teams haven't problem with high scores in the league.

no problem to use EP links if you prefer, it was just a suggestion to "use" at best agreement we have with eurohockey.com.
But please don't say your freedom is limited...keep this word for more important things then hockey.
