As I said in an earlier post, HSC II had games last weekend against Platina Chisinau from the Republic of Moldova. That is where we left off last time. What I didn't know then is that there were not 2, but 4 games planned (on Friday, Saturaday and Monday, Tuesday) probably because Platina had difficulties travelling back and forth and wanted to play those 4 regular season games as soon as possible.
I was present on the first game (on Friday) and quickly a few things became clear for me:
1. Platina Chisinau had players that were pretty big, compared to the HSC II players, and they had a superior playing technique (they were mostly Russian born kids who grew up on Russian hockey style)
2. This being said, and the fact that HSC II couldn't rely on the services of a few players from the "big" team (them being on the Hungarian tour in the MOL Liga) it was clear that they had absolutely no chance against Platina!
3. Platina came with a very thin roster, they had just the minimum required players (15+2)
So, that first game ended with a 4-9 score, Platina was pretty much superior in every way possible! Interestingly, it wasn't enough that they were just a few players, but they didn't all have sticks
! It was funny how when a line changed, the players coming off the ice had to give the sticks to those who were getting on the ice!!! (click on the result for more info)
