I dont know anything about what type of roster the Canadians sent but from the looks of it, we had a good effort from our boys. We were leading 2:0 after the first and tied 3:3 after two but from all accounts, we looked good.

Canada doesn't have a national program at the U16 level AFAIK, usually they look at sending either a AAA club team, or a selection from a single league somewhere in the country.

I'm not sure Latvia even had a U16 team before this tournament :D At least it's good we got invited and there was an excuse to form U16 team...
As for Canada Selects, I think they will be pretty good for this tournament though... maybe they won't win it (I see Russia as a favourite) but they beat Czech Republic 3:2 before the tournament so they are still a good team here.

    GK HACKETT Cam Vaughan Kings
    GK DAGENAIS Antonie

    D LIKEZIC Brandon Vaughan Kings
    D ZNACZKO Danylo Toronto Marlies
    D RUSK Beau
D FLEURY Hayden (Notre Dame) Red Deer, AB
    D CHEVALIER Max
D DE SOUSA Daniel Toronto "Marlies"

    F GRAHAM Connor
    F LINDO Jaden Toronto "Marlies"
    F BLANCHARD Nic
    F ADDISON Jeremiah (Notre Dame)
    F WHITESIDE Connor
    F CRAMAROSSA Michael Toronto "Marlies"
    F SADOWY Dylan Vaughan Kings

F UHRICH Josh (Notre Dame) Rosetown, Sask
    F LEWIS Theo Vaughan Kings
    F PESSINE Lawrence
    F BENNETT Sam Toronto "Marlies"

Their roster goes sth like that, dunno how good it actually can be considered

Here's an article about this team so it seems like it's sort of a country selection, though the majority seem to come from Toronto "Marlies" http://vancouver.24hrs.ca/Sports/hoc...-18541566.html

There are some guys from the vaunted Notre Dame Hounds program, so I can assume that those guys are going to be pretty good. After all, it's the same program that churned out Brad Richards, Vinny Lecavalier, and Sean Coutourier, among others.

    So.... Latvia- Canada Selects 8:7

And Latvia gets 3rd place in the tournament. Egle, Vasiļonoks and Locāns stats should be insane.......

And gold medal goes to Czech Republic team that wins vs Russia.

    Czech Republic - Russia 6:5

    The game for 5th place:
