Oh I hate you Gratton and Verot !

But good thing for Avangard is that they'll have more time to get healthy.

Does anyone know how bad are their injuries ?

    Finland 1-6 Sweden.

Sorry to say this but Finland completely sucks in this tournament. Two shorthanded goals for Sweden... really?

    Russia 3-1 Czech Republic

Congrats to the tournament victory, Russia. I can't see Finland beat Russia tomorrow.

Well after being so good in the past few tournaments I think Finland was due for one crappy one

I knew this just by a having a quick glance at the roster. I mean, MALMIVAARA, TYRVÄINEN, MARJAMÄKI ? really ?

    Coach is definitely experimenting.

    anyways, Go Suomi !

He is. In Karjala, Finland had a so-called 'B' squad (technically all the best players minus NHLers). This one's somewhere between 'D' and 'E'. It's got a small handful of players who are IHWC hopefuls, but they can't carry the team if the rest are garbage, for this level at least. It's full of hit'n'miss players and if even one or two of them turn out to be hits, then we can consider this a generally positive experience.

Don't take this as an excuse though. Being not-so-heavy on names does not mean a free pass to play like a bunch of pussies. It's got relatively young, still-aspiring players like Lindgren, Lehtonen who are given top-line minutes in a company like this. They should revel in it.

But still. Ultimately, there was just one player in that squad I wanted to see achieve a personal success since we need a guy like him, come the spring. Luckily, he has. Save for maybe one or two other names everybody else in that squad can and will be replaced.

Yes, Jalonen was definitely experimenting or at least I hope so, because this team was so horrible...
