I am quite right, mostly ukraine on black sea. i live in Russia, Samara city i know exact where armenia is. east of Turkey is correct, but armenia is directly south of georgia which is south of Russia. To north past georgia is russian cities of vladikavkaz and stavropol. easiest way to find armenia is find russian border with georgia in southern russia and go a little more south.

I was unsure where to put this link, but it looks like we have one picture of Armenian National League in action. Here is a good summary overall of Armenian Ice Hockey

Funny, I have seen the picture on that link for the National League and another on the fed website. Both have a team with colors similar to Armenian jersey colors used in internationals. Who could this be? Urartu?

Also, a reason to be suspicious of Armenia ice hockey. There soccer stats are easy to find and available all around, federation has no problem.
EDIT
But hey, found something weird now. I click on soccer federation website for Armenia and it takes like forever to load, and just closed it before it finished. Also, both contact emails are to @arminco.com. Says they are the Broadband, Wireless, and Dialup Internet Service Providers in Armenia.

But that said, football is a far more popular sport in Armenia than ice hockey. The same thing can be said for South Africa statistical availability.

of course they really exist! I mean, they were the main part of the national team that participated in Sarajevo!:c032:

You mean the same team that also provided players to the U20 team in Serbia? Clearly they exist if players on the national team are registered to them.

All this teams ave their own rink?
All this teams ave their own rink?
From what I've read, Shirak plays outdoors and the Yerevan teams all share the Sports and Concerts Complex. Urartu plays out of Los Angeles, if that helps.

So... aren't the Armenians banned from international competition for a few years anyways? Always fascinating though (in a train wreck sort of way.)

All Uratu players are americans? No one is native of Armenia? They have rosters of this team? They have an armenian hockey website but they just speak about the national team (with no many informations!)..........

They're definately trained abroad. Most of the national squads in recent years were made up of Urartu players and as we saw at the IIHF Congress, 14 of the senior team players in 2008 were ineligible and 8 of the U20 team, I think. It is likely none of them are playing in Armenia as we've seen one worked in a California bookstore and the level of play was so much higher.
A team that was routinely losing matches to it's nearest competitor by 25 goals suddenly surged forward in one year to take bronze medals. In prior years (2004 to early 2006), the national team was selected only from SKA, Dinamo, Shengavit, and Shirak without any players or mention of Urartu.

There are some information about Armenian championship in czech:
Urartu je totiž arménský výraz pro horu Ararat.=Uratu is name for Ararat mountain in armenian.
So I was looking for Ararat Hockey on google.com, and I found http://www.ararathockey.com/. I think that HC Uratu is this team Ararat Hockey, because there are some same names of players playing in Armenia national team.

In Burbank, CA, eh? Interesting.....
Mike (Manuk?) Balyan, re-signing...
Allen (Armen?) Bubushyan...
Karo (Karapet?) Blikian....
"Zorro" (Aram?) Vartanian (Vardanyan?)...
Those are the ones I recognize, but I imagine these guys might know other locals who might be interested in playing for the NT, right..
Nice bit of detective work, Bobigh!
