Feel free to add all sorts of unique hockey trivia. As long as it's unique, it belongs here.

E.g. What club has won the national championship most times? What club has won the national championship in most consequtive years? Who holds the record for most points scored in a game? Who has played most games in the world championships etc. etc.

I think Per Wiese Olsen holds the record for the fastest goal ever scored.

The goal was scored after 2 seconds in a Danish 1 Division game between Rungsted and Odense on 14 January 1990.

In my opinion, the honour goes to Aurelia Napoleon "Bunny" Dame from Canada. Bunny Dame was in fact the scoring leader of the IHWC World Championship in 1939. 12 points (8+4).

And this is exactly what he gets. Here are the results of Dancan's Jury:

"Aurelia Napoleon 'Bunny' Dame": twelve points, douze points... :claphands :drinker-g

Well, I see that this question about the boy on the picture wasn't so succesfull

Anyway, here is the answer:

THe picture is from 15 Years of Whalers Hockey" book (which covers the years 1972-1987):
In this picture are:

New England Whalers co-founder Bill Barnes (the creator of the All-Star Skills Competition, who passed away this week)
Bobby Hull
WHA President Gary Davidson
Whalers owner Howard Baldwin

And the pouty kid in front holding the "New England Whalers" sign? A very young Brett Hull. :)

If somebody knows how many times number "0" was used by NHL players? And number "00"? :)

And what about three-figure numbers? If you know somebody from the hockey history with such numbers? :smart:

Both records belong to Raimo "Raipe" Helminen. He has played in 6 Olympic Games!! And in 320+ national team games. Too bad he wasn't chosen for the Finnish Torino team... He first played in SM-Liiga in the 1982-83 season with Ilves Tampere. He still plays for the same team (and signed a contract for next year!). Raipe has also played for NY Rangers and Islanders and Minnesota Northstars and in Sweden with Malmö Redhawks (two Elitserien championships).

Here are some of his achievements in English. (http://www.raipe.fi/tilastot.htm)

When he was younger, Franck Murgier (Annecy, division 2, French third level) had played with #111 on the back

In this season, Pelle Prestberg, Färjestad, plays with #100 on his back.

Reason: Färjestad's sponsor, Löfbergs Lila has 100 year anniversary.

Nice :claphands

Hhere is what Ii know about there strange numbers.

Number "0" was uded twice in NHL history: by Pol Bibolt(Canadiens, 1942) and Neil Shinny(Hartford Wailers, 1988). Shinny said that he has chosen that number because of two main reasons:first, his ancestors were O'Shinny, so he just gave respect to the family; second, becouse he wanted to be most far from the Gretski's number - to note how much he respects his talent.

There were also wo plays that have played with number "00", the goalies John Davidson(Reigers, end of 70's - he played one season with this number) and Martin Biron(Buffalo, 1995).

Regards three-figure numbers. I know only that Mell Hewitt form Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the 86-87 season had "111" number; and Pavel Bure in the single game for Spartak against Torpedo Yaroslavl nad number 010 because his faforite 10 was busy. But after first period Pavel was asked to change the jersey :)

We have forgot about this thread a little, so here is new question. Try to find answer for this one: What is the oldest, still existing, hockey club in the world?
