As a part of modernizing the Austrian federation (why modernize, just making it better would be enough!) a new logo was introduced:

For me it's extremely uninspired and boring. It seems that the designer just looked up a number of NA sports logos and started to copy them. Really embarrasing is the fact that obviously 200 logos were suggested and the board took this one. I can't believe that no other was better. This logo is not even an attempt to stand as a brandmark of Austrian hockey it's just plain bad (because of it's similarity to for example the NBA logo). :013:

But yeah, that logo is pretty non-discript....

To be precise it is ÖsterreichischER Eishockey Verband, and I also prefer the old one over the new. Someone fromr the hockeyfans.at forum tried to be even more uninspired and added just a litlle more non-creativity - here's the result :003:

Why not use the imperial eagle crest clutching a puck in 1 talon & a stick in the other & a latin motif of sorts.Distinctive & something to make you feel proud.

This logo is the sort you see on sports programmes ie winter olympics placed in the TV corner to try & give an idea of the sport .Truly non descript.
